Atmospheric Modeling System (BRAMS), visando a
ICU nesta {\'a}rea. O BRAMS conta com duas op{\c{c}}{\~o}es de
parametriza{\c{c}}{\~a}o urbana: a primeira {\'e} o esquema
superf{\'{\i}}cie), enquanto a segunda de duas
superf{\'{\i}}cies, compreende dois esquemas: 2T e Met Office
Reading Urban Surface Exchange Scheme (MORUSES).
superf{\'{\i}}cie c{\^a}nion e telhado no esquema urbano 2T, e
modifica{\c{c}}{\~o}es na raz{\~a}o geom{\'e}trica do
c{\^a}nion e no calor antr{\'o}pico no esquema urbano MORUSES.
as mudan{\c{c}}as do par{\^a}metro capacidade t{\'e}rmica,
MORUSES evidencia uma caracter{\'{\i}}stica importante quanto
{\`a} evolu{\c{c}}{\~a}o diurna das componentes do
balan{\c{c}}o de energia na superf{\'{\i}}cie (BES). Os
esquemas tamb{\'e}m permite a ativa{\c{c}}{\~a}o do
O maior
RMSP. ABSTRACT: One of the main effects due to urbanization is the
emergence of locals climates and microclimates, that are
characterized by changes in the energy balance, high air
temperatures near surface, low relative air humidity and air
pollution. Urban areas are generally hotter, if compared with
their proximity (rural or suburban areas), causing the formation
of an urban heat island (UHI). The purpose of this study was to
evaluate the surface properties at Metropolitan Region of S{\~a}o
Paulo (MASP), through sensitivity tests in the urban
parameterizations of surface model Joint UK Land Environment
Simulator, component of Brazilian Developments on the Regional
Atmospheric Modeling System (BRAMS), aiming to describe the
factors associated to the UHI intensity in this area. BRAMS has
two urban parameterizations options: a first called 1T, which has
only one layer (or surface), while the second, comprise two
schemes: 2T and Met Office Reading Urban Surface Exchange Scheme
(MORUSES), of two surfaces. Sensitivity tests were performed from
the modification of properties of materials by means of albedo
variation, emissivity, thermal capacity of canion surface and of
roof in the urban scheme 2T, and modifications in the canions with
aspect ratio (ratio of building height to road width) in the urban
scheme MORUSES. Air temperature simulations were performed using
the schemes 2T and MORUSES during the period from September 23 to
September 30 of 2011, aiming to analyze the impact of sensitivity
tests in this variable, beyond the UHI intensity over the MASP.
The simulations with both schemes indicated that, physically, the
diurnal cycle of the temperature of UHI is well represented. The
sensitivity tests indicated that air temperature suffers a greater
influence with changes in thermal capacity, followed by albedo and
emissivity. Through of sensitivity tests using MORUSES scheme, it
was verified that the vertical effect of urban geometry
(associated with height of buildings) contributes for a greater
nocturnal heating, due to heat storage by urban canopy,
considering a high geometric reason, in comparison with a low
geometric reason, characterized by radiative loss faster at night.
It was noticed that the dependency of the geometry contained in
MORUSES scheme evidences an important characteristic to the
diurnal evolution of the urban energy balance components. The
schemes allows too the activation of anthropic heat parameter,
which control the amount of heat added to the ambient due to
operations produced by man, for example, contribution of
environmental heating due to operation of air conditioning. In the
sensitivity tests, it is verified that activated anthropic heat is
associated to air temperature increase. The greater detailing of
urban energy balance combined with greater realism of MORUSES
scheme with the local geometry in relation to the 2T scheme
contributes to a better representation of diurnal cycle of the
temperature at 2 meters and consequently, of the UHI over the
MASP.",
